Exclamation WMP Sync: Playlist file not being copied with the rest of the files

Hello,

I've been reading for some time now, and thanks to this community i solved some minor issues with the phone.

Now i have this problem that if i sync a playlist with WMP 11, the actual file of the playlist is not being copied along with the music. I found on google that the WMP uses (and creates) a file called WMPinfo.xml in the root of the SD card (or root of an MP3 player's memory) to identify that device. The problem is that in the case of the G1, the WMP is detecting the memory not as a player, but as a plain card or thumb drive, and for some strange reason the WMP doesn't copy the playlist file, or the picture of the album that is shown when you play a song, because the WMP assumes that the SD card (or the device thats using it) doesnt have a screen or the capability to read the playlist.

I had a Shadow before the G1 with a 4GB sd card. that card had a WMPinfo.xml file with the device ID of the shadow. When i bought the G1 i inserted the card without formating and the sync worked perfectly, i only had to change the format of the playlist to .M3U for the phone to be able to read it, but it whas being transfer to the phone (even when i deleted all the songs and playlist but left the WMPinfo.xml file) That changed when i got an 8GB card and formated the old one losing the WMPinfo.xml file with it

I gess the question is: Can we fool the WMP by creating a custom WMPinfo.xml file that automaticaly tells the WMP where to transfer the playlist to, and what format is suppose to have?

Thanks, and sorry for the long post
