not nativly. WMA is a windows format, Android is linux. I guess its possible though.
I have a lot of things in mp3 format, but I encoded some of my audio files in wma, since it was less than 1/2 the size. Is there currently a way to play wma files on the G1? If not, any idea when it might be coming?
TIA!

Thanks, guys! That's what I figured.
I see there are a few linux media players around that support it. Also, there is a linux plugin for Firefox that supports WMA. Perhaps that will make it to Android soon.
For now, I'll probably have to carry around an extra microSD, since I had 12 GB of storage in my iPaq and doubling the size of a big chunk of the audio is going in the wrong direction.
Pending my speed comparisons between class 2 and class 6 microSD, I may end up purchasing a 16 GB card. We'll have to see how that goes.
Other thoughts?

Page 105 on the UG says that WMA(8) is a supported format? Here are the available formats: MP3, M4A (iTunes application AAC, DRM-free), AMR, WMA(8), MIDI, WAV, OGG Vorbis. This is straight out of the T-Mobile G1 Uder Guide pg 105
Awesome! So it does! Thanks for reading the manual!
So I'll be testing out MP3, WMA and M4A in about 5 hours! Great!
Thanks again!
I tried Wma and it worked with the default music player.
Wma can't be used for custom notification tones though.
O.K. Thanks! I'm copying now. I wasn't planning to use them for ringtones, so no worries!

Looks like Amazon's Cloud player plays WMA, I just copied the album I ripped into the amazonmp3 folder and it works fine.
