I read the article and clearly they didn't do their research.

They called the USB mini port "proprietary" when in fact, it's not.

They ignored the App store, IMHO the app store is the WOW factor for this phone. What other phone let's you scan your iris to unlock it, scan barcodes to do a search, and if there's an emergency...simply shaking the phone to sound an alarm, text your family, and call 911?

They're calling this a bust, but yet T-Mobile just can't keep these from flying off their virtual shelves, can they?

As much of a G1 fan I am, I'd have to agree that it's not very pleasing to the eye. It's far from ugly, but definitely not "cool" looking. I'm going to buy it and be satisfied anyway, because it's what's on the inside that counts, right? The iPhone is a better looking phone, but T-Mobile has usually seems to have the uglier iteration of HTC phones (IMO) and I am satisfied how the G1 ended up.

Someone asked a good question above. What would the editor put down for good phones? I've never seen a perfect phone come out, and every phone goes through its teething phase. I'm not sure why they expect a brand new, version 1.0 operating system to be perfect at launch. Where this operating system is different, is that any software flaws can (and will) be corrected without having to jump through hoops or "jailbreak" your phone and fight a constant battle between updating and hacking the phone.

I think he's just saying that they are overly-hyped phones that didn't live up to their hype. I don't think he was saying that they were bad, just under-achievers. Anyways, thats one reason why his article makes little sense. The G1 still isn't in peoples hands yet! Hes calling it a let down before it has even hit the market! ugh.. these technology bloggers make me crazy. They think their all smart and that their opinion matters but when you really think about what they're saying, very little of it is more than hot air, and many times its pretty apparent that they don't even know the facts about what they're reporting on. i don't know why it bugs me so much but it does. X(

All the points he made as facts are moot. Opinions are 'meh'.

Maybe apple pays them more for advertising so they have chosen sides. Come on google boys, take some editors out for a ride in your new fighter jet and win some good pr.
