Default We need some REAL games

Wow the release of professional quality games is pretty slow so far.

When are we gonna get some real games? I don't care about paying for it- I just want some real choices- not some guy's "first time coding a game- check it out and tell me what you think"

Anyone know when pay-apps are finally gonna hit the market?

Now that I think about it, the G1 is kinda lacking in hardware for controlling on alot of games- moving around with a trakball sucks.. the G1 doesnt have a Directional pad or anything like that- future games could be a bit weak due to this..

this has been announced over and over again

q1 of 2009 is when google will allow developers to start charging for their applications... there will be a 25 dollar fee for them to register as a "paid" developer, then all their applications from then on will be trusted on the market...

EA has already released an official tetris for 7.99, but it is not available on the market yet

navigate to eamobile.com to get ripped off, hit the smartphone link at the top right

EDIT: it seems monopoloy is also availble now for the g1

i think they just want some time for apps to be free is all... employees can't even order their own g1 until later this year, maybe even in january... would suck for employees to get screwed that bad... i don't think its solely because of that, more so to allow people to get a feel for the phone before wanting to keep it until the app market goes v1...

i think its a great plus... any major developer wanting to get some audience from the android community may have to force themselves to offer some free games/demo trial versions, which i wouldn't mind at all

Oh dear, another day, another pointless thread bitching about something we knew about before the phone was even launched. Tiki, do you read any of the news here, or anyone elses posts but your own. The fact that Apps will not be chargeable till the new year and that as a result some of the more established companies are holding off releasing stuff till them is OLD NEWS. To post yet another negative whining thread about it serves no purpous. For anyone who wants to get paid for apps before the new year Try Handango, handmark or SlideMe.

You do realize that the release of "professional" games is slow because of several factors:

    1) No Pay system implemented in the Android Marketplace...yet

    2) A great many potential developers only recently are aware of the phone

    3) Do you realize how much effort is put into even the simplest of games? Games aren't things you can just imagine, type in 4 words, and have. You have to develop engines, graphics, program the core code, program the superfluous code, debug, the list goes on and on. Add to that the fact there are no libs yet released, and that the community is relatively fresh (this means no well known tricks with the code to speed things along/code relatively complex things), and you can be damned well sure that any "professional" game is going to be a while coming.

Stop complaining, please. Unless you have a solution to the "problem," it will do know good to fluster any who might be working on such things. Appreciate the devs who are working on apps, as no appreciation might very well lead to no apps.
    How cute... What is it?
