Battery FAQ Section:
Was the battery on the phone tested before release?
No
/thread lol.
My G1 is being delivered today and I am now SCARED TO DEATH to use it for fear of screwing up my battery..
Does anyone know, definitively, how to condition the battery properly.. or do you have to condition it at all?
Thanks!

It will be fine, just try not to let the battery die out and when you get it, try to give It around 8-12 hours charge completely.
It's only a battery and it can be replaced. And remember that Lithium-ion batteries have a high resistance to building a "memory". Rule of thumb, try not to let it die completely and every once in a blue moon, drain it completely (though not past the fallout point) and Charge fully for a minimum of 8-12 hours. Thats really the only advice I can give. Hope this helps![]()
I would put it on the charger, use it a bit while it charges, then leave it charging for a good while (8-12 hours). The little guy's gotta be hungry after being stuck in a box for such a long time![]()
I charged it to 95% and started messing around with it. Drained it to about 2% in 4 hours of HEAVY use. I then shut it off and plugged it in overnight. This morning I turned it on and everything seems fine. granted, I work in an office and am not doing heavy surfing on it, but the battery life doesn't seem THAT bad.
Lithium Batteries are a very difficult thing to mess up due to the fact that most have a sort of limiting chip to keep from over-charging and failing when loss of power. Best way to enjoy it: Charge it when its low, use it when it's not, and enjoy the phone without getting frustrated over the battery.

So I'm hearing that in order to save battery you should turn off all radios. Will push gmail still work with 3g and everything else turned off? Thanks.
