    Default VOIP still uses airtime

Please tell me i am misunderstanding the way ISkoot works. It sounds like it still uses our minutes whether it is a call to an iskoot contact or not... Is there a way (using iskoot or another app) to make VOIP calls using data or wi-fi and NOT use airtime mins? If not, it seems pointless to use this app...

Not yet at this point it seems. iSkoot just uses Skype to save you on international calls, but it will use airtime minutes. Have some patience on the apps coming since the Market isn't officially open to developers until next Monday.

Skype over WiFi will not use your minutes. Can't speak for EDGE / 3G. Guess it depends on if T-Mobile sees the Skype call as just data (i.e. like web browsing)....if that's the case then it won't use your minutes. Otherwise it probably will.

But I re-iterate....if connected via WiFi, it's free.

Just went and read the product info / user manual for iSkoot and it looks like it doesn't even support WiFi. Which is a shame because then it would be free.

    Oh well.
