    Default voiding warranty

if i root my g1 and i had to send it back to tmobile because of hardware problems
    would that void my warranty?

my phone is acting up pretty badly, and now after reading that google isnt helping the phone any by restricting capabilities i figured id root and unlock the full potential but i may have to send the phone in to get a new one

You can just put the rc29 DREAMIN.NBH file back on your phone and flash, just like you did to get root, and it will be back to normal.

If you flash it back to RC29 you should be ok...I would do this ASAP though

...I have heard of people bricking their phones while rooted and getting billed two months later for a replacement.

thats what i figured if i had to, i just didnt know if i could send it rooted or not, but im guessing no since its a "hack" and they usually void warranties, anyway thanks for your help

wait bricking their phones >.< what r the chances of bricking?
is it usually the ppl that dont know what they are doing?

Well they deserve it. Any bricked G1, via rooting process, can be restored with the custom bootloader.

EDIT: is the SPL referred to as a bootloader? IDK - I think I'm confusing this with Recovery Mode (HOME + Power) and (Camera + Power)

here i was thinkin i was more advanced than the average users lol ....is there a rooting for dummies book out yet?

so if im trying to root from rc33 i have to go to 29 then root it correct but if i brick while rooting, is there a way to fix it, because that said u need a modified recovery partition which i dont think comes stock with the phone
