Well put, on the side note I also dislike Apples tactic on mac. Honestly, a Mac is a PC too. Not only is it sterotypical but annoying that PC mean Personal Computer. Mac is a personal computer correct? Sorry I just hate terms being twisted as well.
I just read this article and it really irritated me...
http://www.informationweek.com/blog/...ireles_21.html
It basically says Verizon Wireless purposely teaches their reps to slander the G1 to prevent customers from leaving them and going to Tmobile to get the G1...
I can understand why... But it doesn't make it right...
Do you know who else did similar tactics like this in the past?
The Natzi!
They made billboards slandering people and comics to make them look like they are not really of value...
Nice to know Verizon is on the right path... I won't ever go back to Verizon again for pulling tactics like these... You make me sick... I already lost respect for Apple for doing the same to PC users... Basically the Pun is.. "I'm a PC, I'm a stereo typical chubby nerd with glasses"
I have a G1... I'm not super in love with it... It's not the "Best of all phones" but it isn't crap... The things people are doing now isn't so new... It's just now more mainstream... I had a samsung PDA phone several years ago(before Iphones even existed)... which had wifi, wireless data service, GPS, touch screen, virtual keyboard etc etc.. What makes things different for me now is the open source and App Market... I really don't consider Adroid based Smart phones, phones... It's my mobile computer... like a smaller Netbook...
(Back to article sorry about my tangent)
Google is changing the way people interact with Technology... if you can't handle that Verizon...then eat a D!(k...
I work in retail as well and supply many similar items with different manufacturers... I teach my associates not to pull crap like this.. because one day... you will come across someone that knows more about stuff than you do... and saying stuff like them will just make you look stupid in their eyes...

This is relevantI thought it was funny!
As far as Verizon, oh well. I think the whole Apple Anti-Vista campaign is goofy.
I stayed away from Vista for a while because of all the negative things I've heard. Installed it on my new PC and couldn't complain! Not a single crash. No BSOD. No hardware problems. Haven't had a single issue.
I think it's insanely ignorant to mention people that enacted the systematic extermination of over 6 million humans while discussing a cell phone provider.
Also, by invoking Godwin's Law in the first post, this thread should be closed.
ya i read about that one too... It's in the UK... the article said they wouldn't allow that same thing in the USA due to "too many lawyers".... I just thought it was funny...
It's nice to see Microsoft finally standing up for them selves...
(I have a feeling the apple store reps will just parade that sign with Apple stickers and Tag it up.. etc... *grin...)
I loved verizon... I don't say that too often... when I left them before... I regretted it... but not anymore... ^^
sorry my intention isn't to belittle what went on in the past... but to use an example that many of us have common knowledge of... So I apologize if I offended anyone... Unfortunately these things happen everyday... In newspapers... media... comedy routines... I just don't agree with those tactics... and that was the point I was trying to make...
I agree it wasn't the best comparison by far, but he didn't mean any harm.
Godwin's law only stated that it's more likely for a Nazi comparison the larger a messageboard gets, not that its not a valid comparison.
This obviously isn't a good comparison, but he was stating Verizon was spreading misinformation about something to make it seem inferior. The Mac/PC comparison would have been much, much better and less inflammatory...
On a side-note: does anyone remember the Verizon ad involving pit-bulls in a junk yard? It was removed after thousands of complaints about them portraying the dogs in the way that media loves to portray them -- as vicious beasts -- and they eventually removed the ad. I'm on the fence about the ad. I'm definitely an advocate for the positive attributes of the breed (as you can see in my avatar), but I understand they were just trying to make a point everyone could relate to. Just didn't pic the best way to do it...
