I for one can say WTF???
Hi,
I just got myself an unlocked G1. I'm geographically placed in Europe and my carrier is TeliaSonera.
Where in Android do I enter the APN for EDGE, 3G etc? Is it possible, or can it only be used with T-mobile?

I for one can say WTF???
I can say the same to youHe asked a legitimate question.
3G won't work in Europe. The G1 uses a USA-only frequency for 3G. That's a good question.
Have you checked the user manual?

We would all be very interested to here where you got this phone and how it was unlocked as it is not officially released and as far as I know, has not been hacked to provide an unlock code. Please let us know.
I found it here:

Is it a fake?

According to HTC main site specs, it can operate on European 3G networks (2100MHz) or am I wrong?

Anyone who can help me to spot if it is a fake?
I can't find anything in the manual regarding EDGE and APN setup anyone?
The seller told me that the unlock were made by sending a request to the company and it usually takes about 24 hrs to come through. He/she told me that he/she is an employee at T-Mobile and therefore could get the gphone in advance.
Somebody who could help me sort this out?

di va got, Nerdherddk,
That sounds a little weird. I've unlocked a couple of t-mobiles phones here in the US and you just call and if your account is in good standing they give you a code to put in and thats it; the phones is unlocked.
The G1 is, I'm pretty sure, dual-band HSDPA. The two bands it supports are whatever crazy band t-mo 3G is on here in the US and UMTS 2100, so it should work on 3G anywhere in Europe that uses that band.
As for the settings, I don't know...I don't have the phone yet!
