Two Arrow Circle

What does the icon of two arrows forming a circle mean? I've had it at the top of my screen for about 3 hrs and I think its draining my battery.

Syncing with Gmail or you contacts, you can turn that off in the settings.

It doesn't stop. It keeps synchronizing the contacts over and over and over...

You can turn it off, settings,data synchronization, and turn it off.

dont do that, it might be downloading the OTA update

Yeah, Not for nothing but we are suppose to get the OTA Update today. I have yet to get mine.

I found that mine was "syncing" all yesterday, for like 6 hours, yet it never synced.
I powered off and then back on, and it was immediately synced and the arrows went away. I think there is a problem with syncing at this point, you might want to try a shut down/restart.

I would recommend turning the syncing off AFTER you get the new OTA. but the constant syncing could be another reason for battery life.

I've been experiencing many-hour syncing sessions as well, and I have very few contacts and emails. Not syncing calendar entries.

I wish the notification area at the top could explain what it =is= syncing, so that I don't accidentally power off the phone while there's a firmware update coming in OTA, for example.
