Thinking about returning the G1?

Okay so we have all had time to play with the phone, who is thinking about returning the phone? Is it due to the hardware, or the software? Has it not lived up to what you were expecting?

I admit I fell into the hype but it just has not lived up to what I was expecting, there are some flaws and I realize that this is the 1st gen version and maybe that there may be a OTA software update that will cure some of the glitches.

I had a BB Curve 8320 and I ABSOLUTELY loved the phone it did everything that I ever expected so to me that is my comparison, NOT the iphone! The chin is a little difficult to "text" around and some of the "maneuvers" within the phone are a little "multi-task" heavy.

I am NOT bashing the phone but this just my opinion and I am entitled to that, I REALLY am rooting for the expansion of the app store and HOPEFULLY the OTA updates will cure some of the issues that I am concerned with. At this point I am about 70% leaning towards returning the G1 and going back to my BB Curve.

Any one else want to chime in??

Ay, You do have 14 days (Or 30 if your in CA) to play with the phone, So try it, Test it, And return it if you dont like it. But dont regret returning it once you find out all the problems you once hated, are now fixed with a firmware update.

mine is going back on monday.

i will give it a few more days... but i am pretty sure right now.

Well everyone has there own opinion...So far i love the phone, i just wish the battery could last a lil longer. Other than that this phone is nice. Speaking about text, it is kinda hard to txt for right now but u have to get use to it 1st, its just like a baby thats trying to walk. It take time. All BB Curve phone are hard to text...thats why i hate them things. Well Good Luck!!! Cuz im sticking to my phone!

No way I am returning mine, the keyboard was kind of a let down. I thought the keys would be raised a little more, but I'm coming from a phone with one of the best keyboards out there (IMO). All in all though, a great phone and totally happy with it.

The G1 has not stopped amazing me yet! I'm very impressed with it. There are a couple bugs here and there, but nothing really major for me. I really don't expect a version 1 OS to be perfect, and I got the phone expecting fw updates.

I can't get enough of the phone!

Im on the same boat as you are, this phone is a keeper.

I agree with you on "it takes getting used to" that being said the same text i would send from my BB it takes me a little but more time to send from my G1 and also the volume control for the ringer does get a little annoying while your texting in landscape mode. I think it is a 100% group "bitch" that the battery is horrible as well!!
