I'll be among those waiting outside a random store come Wednesday morn and since I can't wait to see for myself I'm wondering if anyone in this tri-state area received their phone yet. :\

If so can you answer these questions?

1) 3G ...how fast is it? (Not sure how this applies to many folks outside of Philly)
2) How's EDGE?
3) Hows GPS/AGPS ?
4) Call reception & quality?
5) How nice is the new box smell? (My bad.. had to ask

Im not on the east coast but I talk to a rep and they said edge actually work really well on the G1

Hey whatsup bud i live 10 mins outside of philly and work in jersey. Im there almost every single day and the 3g network is not to bad. Call quality i seem to have echoes on my end and the others end, GPS is pretty cool its reliable as well, and the new box smell its nice haha. Wilmington DE, All Good get to Newark and 3G drops av is about 400kbps 3

Last time I did a speed test (I believe earlier this week) I was getting like 800kbps down.

3g is pretty fast here, but I work almost out of the city, so at work I rarely pick up a 3g signal. I've been all over the city and have had a strong 3g signal everywhere else. Call reception is OFF THE HOOK on this phone. I've been with Tmobile since 02 and this phone has the best reception out of any phone i've had. Call quality isn't too bad, I have heard my echo a few times.
