Yeah I can't wait to go! I've been to Korea, but no where else over there. Hopefully we'll have a chance to tour mainland Japan. And I really want to get over and see some of Malaysia and surrounding areas. I'll be there 3 years so I'll see what I can do!

Just so I have everything straight, what info will I need to ask the Japanese carriers. I have a sponsor in country and he's going to ask the local carriers. What info will he have to ask to make sure the phone works. Or rather what services will they have to have for the G-phone to work there. Thanks for all the help!

Well that was easy enough. I just got off the phone with T-Mobile and they said that both of the carriers (Softbank and ... the other one ?) would work with the G1. I just call them when I want my unlock code. They put in the paperwork and send me the unlock code via e-mail. Things are good!
