i like the sound of 8 days better, it just seems like less.
Over 100 of anything seems like too much to me
Since we are all here waiting for the same thing, I thought I'd start a thread with a countdown till the G1 arrives. If you pre-ordered your G1 and are expecting it to come in on Octoebr 22, UPS early morning delivery typically guarantees your package by 8:00 A.M. meaning that could be the earliest your G1 could show up at your door step.
The time posted above is based on Eastern Standard Time, so add a few hours for your time zone.
I'll be updating the thread a few times a day to reflect how much time we still have to wait.
G1 will be delivered in..... 161 hours

true, days to have a better sound to them, but they are simply way too long.
Just updated the first post and knocked off 2 hours already. We're down to 184
You could say that. There's really not that many great threads on here that are worth following yet. I'm just waiting for some devleopers to post info about their apps in the apps section. I check every few hours and get disappointed. I actually think I'm anticipating the apps more than the phone itself. Isn'tthat the phone point of the G1 anyways, a simply platform to run apps on?
You don't want to know how many times a day I check YouTube to see if there are any new App videos that have surfaced or any new G1 reviews. It's rediculous.
I found this online. I hope it its true. I would love to get my G1 this week.

I 've seens a few other posts that have details about the NYC Launch Party, but I'm skeptical that we will get out phones early. I'm going to assume that the launch party is goign to pick off their media and advertising campaign for the G1. Starting this weekend we should see T-Mobile commercials featuring the G1 and pumping up T-Mobile's new 3G network (only in 3G markets of course). It'll be a tricky launch since they can't roll out a national campaign for a product they are only launching in a few dozen markets.
only 167 hours left.
161 hours to go
