Streaming Audio via Bluetooth Stereo

I'm wondering what the current state of streaming online audio through bluetooth stereo is, post cupcake...

I think the consensus is that it's not currently possible, but I feel like it should be. In fact, it does ALMOST work.

Using StreamFurious or Dizzler, it will start to play and stutter a few seconds, then cut out totally. I can hear a song begin to play, but the audio is choppy and then goes out...

So, bluetooth seems to be making, but not maintaining a connection to the audio stream.

How to remedy this? I want my streaming SOMAFM.COM, damnit!

I stream music from my G1 to my Parrot hands-free system every day. It works OK, but it needs some bug fixes. For instance, if the music is interrupted by a call, when the call ends and the music comes back it often stutters permanently, until I disable and reenable BT and restart the music.

I also find that it intermittently swaps out BT audio streaming between songs, so I get 1 second of radio in the 2 second gap between tunes. I think the g1 stops streaming to the Parrot, the parrot switches to the car radio, then the G! starts streaming the next tune and the Parrot switches to BT music.

Last but not least, I find that it sometimes only works for BT voice calls and when the call ends, the music comes out of the phone speaker, rather than the car stereo.

All of the above, occassional issues can be resolved by disabling and reenabling BT on the phone. And they don't happen SO often...

Other than that, I spend many happy hours each week, streaming BT music, so the feature is certainly implemented and 'possible'. I'm pretty sure the issues will be ironed out by Google in the coming months. The issues are most definitely the G!, since my Nokia had no issues whatsoever after I patched the both devices.

Your issues could be with streaming to StreamFurious, rather than the BT audio. I found that using the Beebplayer over a decent 3G connection would suffer similar isues to those you describe, but that was connected to the IP streaming, rather than the BT (I was using wired headphones).

I work at a Nissan dealership and yesterday successfully streamed music from my G1 to the vehicles audio program. Requires the Technology package in the 2010 Altima and 2010 Maxima. it was actually very easy to do.

I was wondering what the actual application is called.. the reason I wanna know this is because I use an application called Tinyshark which lets me stream any song I want, and I hook up a wired connection between my phone and my car sterep, but since my car is also bluetooth capable, I was wondering if there is an actual application that will push all my phone audio through a bluetooth wireless connection so I don't have to worry about hooking up the tangled up wire..

The best tool for streaming audio from an Android to a bluetooth headset or carkit is BlueMusic (check it out on android market, or on developers site: http://teksoftco.com/index.php?section=product&pid=30) . It's that kind of fingerfriendly - easy to use tool, that gets the job done easily.

You guys are talking about a2dp support, but streaming audio over simple bluetooth phone headsets or carkits is also possible. The good thing is the option to redirect the audio back to the headset/carkit after a phone call automatically, this sure makes usage a lot easier...and why not more convenient, since the audio remains uninterrupted.

I'm using it and liking it a lot so far
