    Exclamation Strange call problem

    Hey guys!

This is my first post to this community. I had something weird happen on my brand new g1 yesterday, and I was curious if anyone else may have experience this. I bought my g1 late last week. I tried to call someone from my contacts list yesterday, and it sat there in dialing status, but never actually dialed. I pressed the end key to try and end the call attempt, as this happens sometimes on cellphones, but the call would not end. I hit the end button several times, and the call would not end. I could hit the home key, and I would be returned to the home screen, but I would see in the notification bar an icon signifying the call was still active. Finally after exactly a minute, the call would finally end (like the end key press attempts were delayed). I tried to dial the number again, this time from just pressing the send key twice, and the same problem occurred. I could only end the call after a minute this time as well. After I was able to end my call, I turned the phone off, and rebooted, and have not had the problem since. Has anyone experienced this? I also noticed that in the tmobile account app that is out, I can't scroll through the text in the tips area until first starting to scroll through it with the trackball. It's kind of weird. I think I experience this issue in something else as well. My screen seems to be working fine otherwise, so I'm not sure why I would have issues with those apps or areas. Thanks in advance for your help. God bless!

eeeeeeeyeaaahhhh.....if thats the only problem you've had with the phone you're lucky.
of course there are many people who have never had so much as a hiccup, and they LOVE the phone, blah blah blah....
my relationship with this phone is definitely love/hate.
its buggy, there are lots of things that need to be fixed. ive just accepted that. right now i am not receiving all of my calls. the phone just doesnt ring, no notifications, nothing. if t mobile cant resolve this ill be getting rid of the phone.

I was in love with my blackberry, but it refused to work with the 4.5 upgarde. The only thing I have not tried is downgrading it back to 4.2, which I don't want to do because the browser is so nice in the 4.1. That blackberry was the first time I have ever had problems with a phone...although I was finally comfortable enough with it that I tried to unlock the vendor apps, ended up unlocking some really weird icons in the process, wiped the phone, and booted to app error 523. Several installations, and 3 sim cards later, I payed for a brand new G1 last week. I am loving this phone so far. I had bought one off of Craigslist a while back, and got sticker shock when I was told that my bill would be $101 dollars, so I traded it for a blackberry 8820. I ended up putting a data plan back on my plan because I wanted to have access to the crackberry forum from my phone, and I decided that there is no point in owning a smart phone without a data plan. Tmobile let me upgrade early for my troubles, and I bought a new red curve, but later decided that I didn't want another blackberry. I left a note for UPS to send the package back to Tmobile, and I am patiently awaiting my refund. In the meantime, I went and bought a black Dash. Hit had a cruddy alt key on it, and I really wasn't happy with it, so I went back to a Tmobile store near me the next day, and paid the extra $100 bucks for a new black G1. It's the only other phone I wanted outside of a Blackbery, which after the 3 days of hell my 8820 gave me, I didn't want because they don't like something with Tmobile's software (read up on MyFaves 5.0, and the Curve 8900 to see what I mean). I am thus far very satisfied with this phone. Tmobile has great blackberry support, and customer service. I was actually going to switch to AT&T the day my Blackberry went bad, until I saw their prices. You really do get alot more for your money with Tmobile. I did have to buy a new phone in this matter, but Tmobile did try and take care of me, but I instead went for paying for a new phone, and not having to extend my contract. I now am up for an upgrade in April! YAY!, and am going to probably get the G2. That's my G1 story folks. I wanted to see if anyone else has had something similar to this with their phone. I am going to go out on a limb and say that the majority of the people with phone issues have rooted phones, or have done alot of stuff software wise with their phone. I am a phone geek...I love cellphones...but after my Blackberry fiasco, I am afraid to do anything remotely unofficial with my phone...especially with it's $400 dollar price tag!
