I should be getting my G1 some time today ( can't wait!), but was wondering if anyone has had a chance to test stereo bluetooth support for the G1.
Yes, I know Google said that it is currently not supported, but I have had phones that said they did not support it and turned out that they actually did.
Anyone willing to give it a try?

I have the Motorola S9 bluetooth stereo head phones and found no luck listening to music on my G1. It did however connect to them flawlessly as a regular headset. As per my knowledge, the G1 currently does not have a A2DPprofile. Possibly in a future firmware upgrade or a separate bluetooth update, we may get our prayers answered with A2DP.

I own a G1 and I use stereo bluetooth everyday with my Motorola S9. I have some problems with it. The bluetooth kind of breaks up. For example, when I am listening to a song it will stop then start or skip on and off. When I use it to talk to someone its fine. Any questions please ask.

It's not just the G1. I have an HTC Magic (MyTough3G in the US) and A2DP doesn't work with my new SONY DR-BT21G headset......despite the HTC Magic explicitly supporting A2DP in the hardware spec.
I didn't realize this wasn't supported in Android until after I bought them and found I could only use them for the phone.
Very annoying. This may be enough to make me root the phone and load a custom ROM if there is one that supports the A2DP profile.
Yes....if you root the phone there are at least a half dozen ROMs which fully support stereo BT as well a OBEX protocols for transferring files, etc.
If you want to take full advantage of the G1, including features that *should* have been included out of the box, you must root it.
