Smile solution to sending songs to ur G1.without USB

for those who are having I/O device errors like i was..i have figure out a way to add songs to My G1 without the USB or by bying them on amazon....so all you have to do is

Send an email to yourself, and attach the song you want with that email…then on your G1, go to your email account and open the mail. then click on the attachment, and G1 will automatically download it to your phone…but im not sure if it save in the internal memory or the SD card…to view you song, just click on the music application and then song and voila….sorry if it seems to confusing. But hope it helps

I run my own webserver, so everything I put in a certain folder here on my computer, is accessible on the internet... So I just use the browser on the G1, and download whatever.

But, without that option, emailing it to yourself is by far the best way.

Try this- delete the email and then go to the player to see if the mp3 is still there.

Doesn't work for saving attachments. You can only preview as the previous poster says.

I already had an Apache server for other things, so I just added my music and photos folders to the server so I can listen and view when I'm away.

The free version of Abyss web server for Win/Mac might be a good option, but I haven't tried it. http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/ So just install the thing, forward a port on your router, get a static IP from no-ip.com, and voila.

if you email it to your gmail, then go onto your browser and open your gmail there, then you can download the attachment onto your phone. that's how i had to do it.

Take the MicroSD out and put it on your laptop, drag the song to the SD.
