Soft reset, for my G1 that likes to freeze!

Is there any way to reset my phone when it freezes? Or do I have to do the pull out the dern battery every time it happens?

I take no responsibility for the following information, but this is what I've read:

Reboot G1
if you power off your phone and hold the home (shaped like a house) and the end (red hangup button) for about 20 seconds you get a triangle with an exclamation point and a picture of the G1

after that if you open your keyboard and hold alt+L you'll get a menu that says:
Android system recovery utility E: Can't open /cach/recover/command

Home+Back reboot system now - (Soft Reboot)

Alt+L - Toggle log text display - (Toggles between the exclamation and menu options)

Alt+S - apply sdcard:update.zip - (Not brave enough yet)

Alt+W - Wipe data/factory reset - (What I chose, had to re-register, out of the box settings)

If anyone tries any of these out, let us know if/how well they work (unless it blows your G1 up, in which case I don't want to know about it, in fact, I don't even know you......)

A soft reset is just a "reboot" of your phone. You can accomplish this MUCH MUCH easier by simply pressing Call + Menu + End/Power while the phone is on. Try it... it doesn't hurt your phone at all.

It won't work for my phone because it won't even power off when it freezes....I have to take the battery out. It does it a lot!
