i sent myself a email attached with an mp3 file
and all i could do was preview the mp3

but couldnt download it

does anyone know why?

Yes, it sucks that you can only "preview" the mp3 in the GMail app. BUT, if you use the browser and log in to your GMail account, you can download the mp3 from the browser on the phone (I tested already).

ooh really thats lame, why only preview with the gmail app only

but okay thanks alot

i guess ill just login the brower gmail to download my ringtone.

hope they have a firmware upgrade for that gmail app
