I FOUND THE INFORMATION THROUGH PHONESCOOP.COM
"Guys - The 3G indicator of the G1 was on and blinking like mad during Web use. When I turned off the 3G radio, the 3g symbol disappeared entirely. I am positive I was using T-Mobile's 3G network.
Also, I mentioned in the review that I tested a Sony Ericsson TM506 right next to the G1. Both were using the same T-Mo 3G. The SE was fast, the G1 was slow... "
IT CONCERNS ME!

there is a video review on the net of the iphone 3G and G1 3G side by side and the person was comparing the speeds between the two. and the iphone loaded up web pages faster then the G1. but it also realy depends on where you are loacted thats the most important part never to forget.
Yeah, I'm not worried about signal in my house, I'm about 30 feet from a cell phone tower. And I've never had less than full bars on any of my cell phones
G1 arrival date: 10/21/2008!!!!!!!!!!!
i wish i had a cellphone tower near me. cause the signal in my house sucks. but im not worried i live in nyc signal is great everywhere else. im just excited about getting my phone monday![]()
idk much about this but i heard if u hav to phone next to each other it might disrupts each others internet and 1 will take most of the internet speed while the other one gets some but im not sure this is juss something i heard any thoughts?
i know that only works with computers when you have both networked togeather. but as far as mobile phones go i cant picture cellphones doing that. there would have to be some type of infered attached to the device. i could be wrong.
i'm also hearing a lot of bad things about the t-mobile network here in new york. not just data, but voice too. I really hope the problems are overstated... but I'm still on Verizon and I really wanna get the G1, but signing a contract with weak t-mobile service makes me hesitant. guess i'll have to just wait and see how other peoples' experiences are.
I can not complain about the 3g we have in Chicago. The speeds are so much faster than edge. The G1 gives me the confidence to do a quick web search without fearing it will take too long. The voice is good quality I can't complain about it.
I tested side by side my G1 with my friends iPhone 3g, we both loaded up bestbuy's website and his was about 4 seconds faster than my phone. I don't think its bad considering 3g just rolled out a couple weeks ago. I'm sure you'll be satisfied.
