Default Signing out Gmail and signing in with new user?

Hello to all! This is my first post. I have been able to play with the G1 because I work for T-Mobile. My question to everyone is this. For example, multiple people have been using the G1 with their SIM cards, but the 1st person who used it set their GMAIL account up on the device. Now when another person wants to use the phone, there is no way for you to "Sign out" the old account and set up a new one. I know nobody has their device yet, I have gone over the user guide with a fine tooth comb and there is nothing in there about GMAIL accounts. So until I can get some resolution, be very careful and make sure the account that you start the device with IS the account you want to use for good. BTW, the device eats the iPhone for LUNCH!

Thumbs up Re: Signing out Gmail and signing in with new user?

Thanks! Good to know! I have two phones coming and one is NOT for the account which it was purchased under, so I'll need to watch out when I set these up.

Thanks again,

Reg

I believe you just do a hard reset to wipe them memory. Then it will ask you to set up the phone to a Gmail account again. Then you can just put in the new or different account info.

I will be using it as a demo next week Monday, so i will try it then. The guy who is using it in my office right now might not appreciate me wiping his data. I will keep you guys posted. Thanks

I just went into the "Settings" and under "Storage" chose the factory reset and it erased everything, which my coworker was ok with, and it started you back at zero where you can set up a new GMAIL account or use an existing one. Problem solved!!!

Also, I assume you can use the web browser to look at gmail from any account. Is this correct? TIA!

i have 5 gmail accounts and 2 others for my own domains.

I just have them all forward to one gmail account and set up a label for each address and a filter to skip the inbox and send them to the label setup for that particular address

might work for your situation too...

You can still do POP3 and IMAP accounts, and like he said earlier I guess you could forward the other accounts and just use labels. Yes you can still use the browser and access GMAIL that way too, just make sure you dont use the GMAIL icon because thats linked directly to the "master" GMAIL account the phone was originally set up with.
