Default should she take the deal?

My mom was just telling me that a t-mobile sales rep told her that he would GIVE her a G1 if she would give him 30 min to convince her to switch her business phones from nextel to t-mobile. She says she won't do it because she has no intention of switching and that it would be wrong...I say that he wants 30 min to try to convice her, she's giving him that. Get the phoneeeee! What do you guys think? Should she take it?

It sounds like it...she thinks its dishonest because she has no intention of switching, say she's not promising to switch just listen...so its not dishonest

I guess you got it wrong... If after 30 minutes she decides to change from nextel to t-mobile then she gets a free G1.

why not have her give the guy his 30min, and then make her decision on the merits?

i'm not sure i fully understand the question. what's the tough decision here? is her favorite sitcom on at the same time, or something?

If you do do this, make sure you fully understand the deal.

Hm... so your mother's company uses Nextel? Consider the cost of switching to T-Mobile and see if it's worth the price of a G1. Also consider the cost of new phones that need to be purchased, if any.
