Thread: Setting up a GoDaddy Email Account

I also have an Android phone and a godaddy company website, and had the same problem everyone here describes. Do not ask me why this works, but it does. I deleted my account instead of editing it until it would both send and receive emails.

Prior to this, I changed from POP3 to IMAP, tried each number suggested, and could not ever get it to send an email. In frustration, I deleted the account, and then recreated and it worked the first time.

Here were ultimately my settings on the Motorola Droid X after I entered my account name as my email address, my email address and password.

    Type: POP Mail Server
    Server: pop.secureserver.net
    Port: 110
    Username: email address
    Password: password

I do not check "Use Secure connection" or "Verify Certificate".

    For outgoing, I have:

    SMTP Server: smtpout.secureserver.net
    Port: 25
    Username: email address
    Password: password

I do not have "Use secure connection" or "Verify Certificate" checked.

I tried this setting with my original account set up at least three times, and it did not work. When I deleted my account all together and then re-set it up like this, it worked immediately and has worked since. I found this forum by searching "Android godaddy email" so once I did this, I registered so I could post this. Hope it works for anyone that hasn't figured out a different way.

Don't know why this would be, but also, don't really care now that it works.

Cheers and good luck - Lee

I was having the same problem with my Go Daddy email smtp server on my Sprint EVO. The Incoming server was working fine but I could not get the SMTP working using thier smtpout.secureserver.net server. I found that my email account did not have smtp relay set which is a setting in your Go Daddy account manager in the email section. Once I made this change from 0 relays to 250 it worked fine. Hope that helps.

I had same problem as well & spent over an hour trying to resolve it. Like Vitto,
i fixed it by using pop.secureserver.net instead of imap.secureserver.net for incoming server &
smtpout.secureserver.net for your outgoing mail server. After doing that, it sync'd immediately. Yaaaaayyyy!!! Thanks Vitto & Thelazyone.

    Try these steps:
    Username
    Your full email address.

    Password
    Your email account password.

    Incoming Mail Server
Use pop.secureserver.net for your incoming mail server.

    Outgoing Mail Server
Use smtpout.secureserver.net for your outgoing mail server.

    Incoming Port
If you enabled SSL, use port 993. If you do not have SSL enabled, use port 143.

    Outgoing Port

If you enabled SSL, use port 465. If you do not have SSL enabled, use port 25, 80, or 3535 for your outgoing port.

Ok this is driving me crazy. I can't seem to get this to work. I have the outgoing working just fine, but i cannot get incoming to work. I am using a G2. On my computer at work the incoming settings say port 110 with no ssl. When i put that in on the email set up it acts like it works, then takes me to outgoing, set that up fine, and then to the actual inbox. When i click on load more messages, it does nothing. I have sent test messages to this account and nothing. I can however send emails from my phone using this account just fine. Any ideas?

I tried entering port 143 for incoming and it just sat there forever. The second i use 110 it goes right through. I have to be missing something.

I am having trouble sending email through my GoDaddy email account, but I can recieve w/o problem. I am using a Moto Droid Pro with Android 2.3.3.. My email settings are currently as follows, but I have tried a myriad of settings:

    Port: 110
    Use secure connection: No
    Use secure password (TLS): Auto
    Authenticaqtion: Password
    Verify Certificate: Yes

    Outgoing Server: smtpout.secureserver.net
    Username: GoDaddy Email Address
    Port: 3535 (I've also tried the following: 80, 25, 465 w/ SSL)
    Use secure connection: No
    Use secure password (TLS): Never
    Authenticaqtion: Auto
    Verify Certificate: No
