here's my idea, from your pc do a screen capture of the whole article, move the file to your G1 in the picture folder or wherever and view them as picture when your underground.....have fun
Question about the G1 web browser, and sorry in advance if this has already been answered. I searched the forum beforehand and did not find anything.
I work in NYC and recently traded in my BlackBerry for the G1. If anyone's familiar with commuting to the city it's not too fun; being underground (with no reception), overcrowded subway cars, delays, etc. One thing I do to get through the commute is to read news articles. Due to space constraints, I would save web pages from mobile websites like Reuters and NY Times directly to my device. Hopefully I'm wrong, but saving web pages is not possible with G1's default browser. Yeah, there's sort of a way around this by having multiple windows open in the browser but I have run into a couple of issues with that.
So... is there anyway to save webpages on my G1???

You're joking right? I'll just be patient and wait for later versions of the browser or alternative ones (maybe BB will release their browser for the Android OS, lol).

See this thread for more info on an effort to create an app to do exactly what you're asking for.
This sounds very promising...
Have you tried Opera for Android?

I couldn't find a "Save Page" or anything like it in Opera. The Opera website says it will support "Save Page" if the O.S. supports something called JSR-75....so I'm guessing Android doesn't currently support it.
I haven't tried passing the already saved webpage to it though (if I can even figure that out)![]()
See my step by step here on how I was just able to finally save a website on the SD card while at home so that I could read it while on the airplane.
You could just install Opera.
