Ok guys im back to give android a second shot the first time with my g1 went horribly wrong couldnt get access to my g1 at all that shows me never buy a phone from craigslist again... but im back with a fresh new android phonee not of craigslist i paid a full 660 for my phone this time lol okk so i love the phone but me being the boy genius i want to root my phone but every where i search the only thing that comes up is that quick root way i remember for the g1 it was like a million steps i didnt mind doing them but now with the hero its an app or like really quick i dont if i like this... if it gives me full root access like tethering, transfer via bluetooth ext... ill do it but can anyone tell me the cons of doing this and the pros and should i go the long way in rooting it and if i should can someone guide me the right way in rooting it the long way because all the instructions i look for are for the short way thanks alot again...
unless someones really sure in would wait a while so you dont fcuk up your phone
what do you mean? i know what im risking by rooting my phone like i know i can brick it but im pretty confident with the right intructions i can do it i did it many times to my friends g1s but my g1 was crap! lol
but it might be different. How bout this, root it using the rooting hero instruction and recovery image, thats probably the best idea

thats the rooting hero
link me please... and do i get full root access like tethering, transfer via bluetooth ohh and i want the newest version which i believe is 1.6 donut?
if you have rooted a g1 before than i would use the instant root app . the downside of using the app is not knowing how to actually do something when you run into an issue . but , since you already rooted a g1 , then save yourself the time . use the recovery flasher app to intall cyans recovery . after that , feel fee to update to whatever rom you want ! dont forget to install a terminal emulator and a superuser permissions app from the market .
these days , on the g1 also , many things are much easier to do than before . unlike before when we did everything manually . you should probably do some catching up on what has happed and what is happening with the "dark side"(the rooted community) . anyways , good luck !
