Rogers HTC Magic/Dream Software Update!

So I was checking out the rogers site today and found a software update for the HTC Magic and Dream, this update is supposoed to fix the timestamp problem and the exchange problem and it is also supposed to enchance the whole expreince. So i did it and what intersested me was the nice little utility that HTC made its called RUU and it stands for ROM Update Utility, what it does is it automatically updates the ROM, which i found kinda neat. Also this update does take off root acess and wipes the phone!

Interesting, did they add remove anything else? soft KB for example? some usage optimization?

I need some Details!!! and lots!!!

i hav the htc magic so im not sure if they added the soft kb but im pretty sure they didnt, this comes straight from the website:

-Improves the overall device functionality and stability
-Enables correct SMS timestamp
-Enables Chinese character display for POP3 HTML Emails

-Corrects E-mail client exchange Issues

Thats what it does.

Where did you find this update? :O
And to be clear, when you applied the update, it whiped your phone?

You find it on the Rogers site you go to support and download centre and yes it wiped my phone.

Did it change anything else on the lower levels like radio or SPL? just wondering for future hackability

I wonder if this kills the one one click root?
