    Default Return Policy

I'm starting to shy away from the G1 after these poor reviews. I pre-ordered it only cause I knew I live in California so I have 30 days to return a phone from t-mobile with money back. Do I have this right, if i dont like the G1, I can just return it to a store or ship it back with everything inside and get a refund and go back to my phone i have right now?

That's Correct Sir. Here IN NYC We Have 14 Days To Try The Phone Out, If We Dont Like The Phone We Return It And Get Our Money Back. Also You Get Back To Your Old Plan You Had On Your Old Phone

    Handset Return and Cancellation Policy

For T-Mobile.com, 1-877-387-4324, and 1-800-T-MOBILE sales and activations only:

You may cancel Service without paying a cancellation fee within the Return Period, which is 20 calendar days from the date of your order (30 days in CA). During the Return Period, you can cancel Service for any reason so long as you: (a) contact us to cancel Service; and (b) return with proof of purchase, any product purchased from T-Mobile.com, 1-877-387-4324, or 1-800-T-MOBILE in connection with your activation of Service. Even if you cancel Service and/or return your product, you must pay all Service and other charges incurred prior to cancellation or return. A product returned with proof of purchase to the place of purchase during the Return Period along with its original packaging and contents is eligible for a refund of the purchase price if it is in good working condition. You may be required to pay a restocking fee. The purchase price of your product may have been subsidized to facilitate your subscription to the Service. If you cancel Service within the Return Period but do not return the product in good working condition, you will be charged for the amount of the subsidy you received.

I know you can refuse delivery or send it back to an address they list. Not sure if that address is for unopened packages or not. But with California law I'm sure that somehow you can return it.

The way I look at it is that there is absolutely no way it can be any worse than the phone I have now!

ya but I'm jus tstarting to think its the first release of android and a google phone, also the first time T-mobile 3G network is up and is limited at the moment, although 3G shouldnt be a problem in LA. I currently have a sidekick 3 and have had it for so long because I'm just so comfortable and used to it and I can almost type faster on it than on my computer. G1 keyboard has been getting bad reviews... I'm sure the next release of G1 will be much much better as they will have had experience with it. But if I get the G1, I'm stuck for 2 years on T-mobile in case something amazing might come out like the Storm and Bold for att and verizon. So I'm not sure what to do, what do you think?

Well 1st of all you cant go by someone else's reviews... everyone has there own opinion. from what i head the G1 is alot like the sidekick. also going by reviews the keyboard is easy to type on. and "THE CHIN" of the phone dont get in the way at all..

Do what you feel is right. try the phone out for 30 days if you dont like it give it back and stick to your old contract. and when something new comes out that blows you away try that phone out and see what you think. it really all depends on you. i dont really go by what people tell me about stuff, i have to get my own hands-on to be the judge. Its kinda like someone going to see a movie and telling you that it sucked, and then you went to see the same movie and you liked it you get where im going with this?

Remember that Android is only an operating system. If there are bugs to be worked out (which there will of course be) then your handset (the G1) can have an update applied to it to support the new changes in the OS.

I have heard more reviews that the keyboard is incredibly comfortable than those that say it is bad. Some say the keys are not raised enough, but since they are plastic/rubber and click like a normal keyboard, I am sure that will be less a problem than is initially considered.

I think there are two types who are dissing the keyboard. 1)iPhone people who will hate the G1 at all costs, and defend their virtual keyboard and call a QWERTY archaic no matter what.

    and
    2) People who also hate the "chin" on the phone. The reason it is uncomfortable for them to type with their right hand is because it is new and different. You will get used to that pretty quickly I assume.

I think they fail to see that the reason and beauty of the chin is that it will allow for one handed trackball navigation.

Anyway, there is only one person's review that can determine whether the phone works for you...and that is yours.

You've ordered it. You'll get to play with it first, before the world (mine is scheduled to arrive on Monday). See if you like it. If not, send it back.

But keep in mind, if it is the software you don't like, that will get updated. If you like the feel of the phone in your hand. If you can stand the keyboard, etc. Then this is a good phone for you. HTC makes a VERY solid handset. Could end up with a prettier one that lasts 8 months if you're not careful
