I don't know if this has been covered. I was having trouble getting Gmote to work. I followed all the instructions carefully, read all the FAQ's, went to other forums to try and find answers as to why it wouldn't connect using my WiFi.
I realized this whole time that I have been using the 3G network and never really turned on the WiFi because I didn't need it so far.
During the set up of Gmote it said to turn on your WiFi and make sure you can connect to your browser, so I did and nothing. My WiFi was not working and for the life of me I could not figure out why. I checked all my settings with my router, tried dynamic and static IP's, nothing worked.
So I finally called T-mobile CS and after 3 different CS reps, running me thru soft resets or rebooting the phone. Finally the last girl noticed I had a feature on my paln called Web Guard, which is like a filter for offensive or other less likely material that you don't want showing up when you surf the net.
I didn't know this was on my plan, but it was the cause of the app to not work. Now I can use my WiFi no problem, except that its a lot slower than 3G. Hope this helps someone else.
WITHOUT WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE IS USELESS.
