did you choose the option to "mount" from you phone?
Im stumped.
I got my hands on a lovley black G1 on saturday, but it wont connect to my PS3.
I plug the USB cable in and go through the normal routine on the G1, but nothing happens.
I once managed to illicit a responce from my PS3, it said "unknown device detected", but now i get nothing. Not even a icon on the XMB.
Any ideas how i can get files from/to my PS3?
Im running a 60GB PS3 (with a 250 HD) and a standard T-mobile G1.

The PS3 can grab files via UPnP so you'd need a UPnP server running on the G1. I don't think the PS3 exposes its internal filesystem to the network.
If you want to get hackish you could root your phone and install MediaTomb.
Personally, I'd take the easier route by using a computer to share files with both the G1 and the PS3.
Never had issues connecting it to my ps3. I have the 80gb tho. I'm trying to figure out if I can use my g1 as a keyboard for my ps3
Naturally.
Strangely, my G1 will only work with my laptop and not my desktop. On my desktop it says that the G1 is running a RAW file system and so wants nothing to do with it.
Yes, i could bounce files around, but i prefer the simple USB method..... well, i would, if it worked.
I have a 40gb PS3 and I have never had a problem recognizing the G1. BTW, does anyone know how to tether the PS3 to the G1's 3G via wifi or usb?
Ive got a little further with this problem.
Ive bought a little USB card reader, but it didnt work. My PS3 was still oblivious to the existance of the card/reader.
So, i tried it in my pc. Worked perfectly.
Hmmmmm, strange.
Just as a last stab in the dark, i tried my old N95 card in the reader and pluged that into my PS3. It popped up straight away in the XMB.
So, the culprit is the G1's card. Given that both my laptop and G1 can read/write to the card, it cant be defective. My only remaining idea is that it must be the file system.
I think that the PS3 uses FAT32 (but im not sure), what file system does the G1 use?
EIDT: Found out it uses FAT. Can the G1 use FAT32?

yes it can. *EDIT* yes it can use the FAT32 system. to root the phone u have to use FAT32 and thats what my rooted G1 is using right now.

get GMOTE and try it out with the G1 and PS3 on the same network. it just might work out for you since gmote acts as a wireless keyboard and touchpad mouse on normal computers. but you would have to put gmote server on the PS3 and install and run it when u want to connect if its even possible to do this.
