Nope, not the trackball. I did have defective device though like you as well. Sorry bro, I feel your pain.
Well, today was the sad day that i sent back my G1. The trackball would get stuck every time i tried to scroll down through a list, (landscape mode), and it was very annoying to play pac-man haha. Now i have to wait until the 10th until they will ship me another. Back to the razr for a few more weeks...I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Me and Android are officially connected.
g1 trackball death? Ouch sorry to hear man. but look at the brightside NEW PHONE sweet
Too bad i have to wait a few more weeks!!! GAH it feels like i did after the pre-order except this time i know what it is like to have one. Maybe my new one will have more internal memory... haha
i used to have this problem with the sidekick2/3 all the time. what was actually happening was that dust was building up under the trackball. I would either A. take apart the sk and clean under the trackball to get the dust out or B. use a babywipe to dab the trackball lightly and scroll it in the direction it wasn't working. or C press down on the trackball firmly and continue to scroll and it would usually start working again.
yea same problem but i used a q-tip and a little alcohol and wiped it down and it was fine after that should of never returned it lol to late now
if reports are true, this device uses the same trackballs as the ones in blackberries...
a good amount of people are going to have stuck trackballs if this is true... granted, its just a quick fix to clean it, but i don't know about that on the g1
Buy the rumor, Sell the news.
One thing I learned from my Curve, don`t touch the trackball with a wet finger.
yesterday my trackball wouldnt go up for about 3 minutes.. but it eventually started again.

That was the last problem that I had with the Blackberry Pearl before I gave up on it.. later I took it apart and cleaned off all the lil wheely bits and it worked just fine.. I don't think I would want to try that with the G1 tho..

At least I don't NEED the trackball on the G1.. if it gets stuck, everything else will still function fine. Very much the opposite of the blackberry..
