Please Help! Rooting Phone -- Stuck!

Hi. I am rooting my G1 and have followed exactly the tutorial printed here on AC numerous times and linked to on Webnetta.

I successfully got through step #11. I have successfully returned the phone to RC29 state, and have checked the box in Applications for Unknown Sources.

I am stuck on step #12. I download the http://koushikdutta.blurryfox.com/G1/Telnet.apk successfully onto my G1, but it will NOT install. I get a message, "Application install unsuccessful". I tried it several times. I even downloaded the file again, and I still get the same message.

Someone please advise ASAP! I don't know what to do at this point, as I can't get any further.

Download it from the market. Inffact I don't think you will need it just download terminal emulator from the market and continue

Allright, thanks. I see in watching the youtube video on getting root, that he jumps past that step, then downloads terminal emulator and telnet, then later he goes lack to step 16.

I just downloaded those two aps, so I will try doing it that way, unless someone has better advice.

yeah terminal emulator works well but i used this first and then moved on to the terminal. if you cna't download it from the market just use terminal emu like JR said.

The link for the RC30.zip file in the tutorial doesn't work. Does someone have a working link to get that file?
