There have already been a couple of threads on this.. Someone posted that they got a code from the site you mentioned..
Personally, I wouldn't bother.. I prefer T-Mobile above all others in my area..
Just curious if anyone has gotten their G1 unlocked from Tmobile (I know there are websites out that you can pay to get unlock code for G1, like htcunlock.net)? I placed a request with Tmobile to unlock my G1 and I got an email back from them saying they have forwarded my request to the manufacturer (HTC I assume) and tell me to wait for 14 days until putting in a duplicate request if I don't receive the unlock code... (I glad there wasn't any mention about "they only unlock it after 90 days...")

Day of the Android pt 1
T-Mobile US Stock Rom & Android Froyo 2.2 FRG33 (mccm); LinPack 38MP; Quadrant 1750
I got my G1 officially unlocked from TMO for free within a day or so. Process was call 611 and ask for a SIM unlock. You will need the phones IMEI (from the dialer enter #*06# and confirm your account info.
Criteria to get it is having the T-Mobile account the G1 is on to have been active for 90 days or more - NOTE the G1 does not have to have been on the network 90 days, just the account the G1 was added to! So if you upgraded or added the G1 as another phone your account length for the previous phone(s) is taken into account.
Turnaround was about a day and a half, you will get an email from an automated system (email from is ARSystem Notify) with the title "T-Mobile Sim Unlock Notification"
NOTE: To unlock the phone you *WILL* need a non T-Mobile SIM card as inserting that in the phone will prompt for the unlock code after power on. A dead AT&T/Cingular or other network SIM can be used for that. There is no expiration on the unlock code - just ensure if the code doesn't work NOT to keep attempting as the phone will be permanently locked to T-Mobile with 3 failed attempts. [Failed unlock code means you provided the wrong IMEI number to TMO cust care]
An unlocked G1 will work on any GSM network or any UMTS2100 network (3G) using a local network sim card. It will NOT work on AT&T for 3G nor will it work nationwide on the Australian 3G carriers using UMTS850. So basically it will work anywhere in Asia, Europe, etc on UMTS2100 networks.
