The future is now, do not be scared. i would put my old tmo MDA(cooked with winmo 6.1 with htc home) up against iphone or any symbian phone incl. n95, not to mention my unlocked tilt with updated rom. Android is the future all the devices you are refering to are the distant past. what on eart do you guys mean by multi task? your phone only has one screen right? how you switch between progams is symantics(going to a task manager could never be faster than jsut going to the app. sleeping, hibernating, running in the back whatever.) Come on people this type of stuff is the main problem keeping the technology moving slow..... pause for a sec. think
android is completely open...... anything can be made for android ANYTHING... flash, taskmanager, opera, tens of video players. please explain what you mean by multi-tasking and ill try on my tilt, n95, and my G1 i have all three(what specificly can you do on a N95 i couldnt do on a winmo device? not to mention android) just so we are clear i have used all these phones own all 3! In my opinion the N95 and Iphone are great gimmicks but nothing compared to the G1

Wow, very nice to hear it works without the g1 specific plan. Do you know if your phone is a consumer model or those review models that employees seem to be getting? According to the Tmonews forums there is a difference and the consumer one is locked down more. They claim for the consumer model it will not work unless it is the g1 specific plan.

The person claims that every time you turn on the phone after you turned it off, if you don't have data service it won't start because it verifies with the google servers everytime it starts.I wonder if there is some way for you to test this.
Anyways congrats!
Didn't see it mentioned anywhere, does anyone know if the hotkeys are assignable at all?
dude wheres the review?
Thank you. I guess I didn't read over the manual as well as I thought I had.
Hah...
Well, the previous review basically covers most of my impressions.
As for hotkeys, there is a way to launch whatever you want with the search button. Search + G opens a Google search, Search + P opens music, and you can set it however you like.
I'll write something up soon, maybe about the apps because most of the info was covered already.
