someone told me that the outgoing smtp server needs to be that of Tmobile's smtp. may i ask if anyone has Tmobile's SMTP server's name/address?
i discovered a big problem for me last night:
i use only 2 emails: gmail and nyc.rr.com
the nyc.rr.com is through my time warner cable modem broadband provider (ISP) and it is a VERY important email for me, which i use daily on a desktop PC with Outlook (non Exchange, regular, everyday, Outlook 2007, standalone).
i had input the incoming server and outgoing servers' names and it worked. there was one tricky part about a check mark that needed unchecking.
i had neglected, yesterday during the day, to test how to work the OUTGOING email (using nyc.rr.com ) from my G1. well, it doesn't work at all.
would anyone have any ideas as to how to get it to work?
the incoming and outgoing servers' names are:
incoming pop 3 server: pop-server.nyc.rr.com
Outgoing server: smtp-server.nyc.rr.com
thx in advance!

Try putting myemail.t-mobile.com as the outgoing server name. Also, if there is an option for authentication, put a check to that option as well. I haven't got my G1 yet, so i am not sure of that option.
I set up my verizon email account to be pulled in through gmail. It takes about 7-10 minutes for an email to get forwarded through the gmail, but thats pretty quick for not being "push". And when you reply through gmail, you can choose your sent address as the verizon account as well.
Just in case you can't get your outgoing working the correct way, you can always try this method.
