Notification tone

I currently have the G1 and I love it but i am wondering how to change the notification tone so it can me a music ringtone without that beeping noise before. Can someone please help me out

Notification for the sms messages. I can't get it to stop that beeping sound it takes over the song i put to the notifications

You can always transfer songs/sounds and such and crop 'em up by using Ringdroid (found in the Market)... I use it for notifications as well as my ringtones, such as Baby/Birdman's infamous birdcall for my texts and Sunny In Philly's "Green Man!" for Gmail.

But does it still make a beeping noise? Thats what Im having a problem with it still does a doo doo doo noise. I have ringdroid and I also got tunes for android.

is it possible you have two conflicting SMS notifications? i.e., 2 apps?

turn off your SMS notifications in the messaging app.

Open Messaging: Menu -> Settings. Scroll to Notification settings and uncheck Notifications.

open messaging so all threads are shown > hit menu > settings

it might be another app causing the issue though...
