Notification Bar help

Hi

I cannot figure out how to receive alerts in my notification bar for Google calendar or Astrid To-Do application.

I have definately set the notifications in both programmes, but nothing appears in my notification bar.

Any ideas?

did you turn on auto sync for calendar under: settings/data synchronization?
