Default Not real familiar with the cell phone buying proccess. Walk me through it.

I'm mostly worried about extra costs. I'm stretching my budget really far in order to buy two phones.

OK so it's 179.99 for each phone.

No there is a chance that I need to pay a deposit. This may cripple by ability to make the purchase. HOWEVER, I have bought a Helio cell phone in the past and my credit was good enough to not have to pay a deposit that time. And my credit is the same or better than it was then, so should I expect to make this purchase deposit free again?

Are there any other costs I should be anticipating? Or will I be out the door for $360?

Lets talk about 1 phone for now. The cost of the phone with a 2 year extended contract is 179.99 (180). There is always a activation fee with ANY new phone (18 dollars), and tax (oh yes!). That will bring your total OTD cost to about 214 per phone.

I assume about a little over 400 is a good estimate for two phones.
I also ordered two, but the good thing is that it will be posted to your tmobile bill the following month, which leaves you a bit of extra time to pay.

Before they allow you to order the phone, you will be REQUIRED to pick up a data plan, either $25 for unlimited data + 400 messages, or for $35 unlimited data & unlimited messages.

I have read that these data plans can be canceled after activating the phone though.

If its such a stretch for the phone, why not just get one?

are you talking about the price of the actual hardware, or are you talking about including your monthly plan? Also, are you buying the 2 phones for 2 different people?

Plan on $450. That will leave you with a bit of margin and it will definitely be a bit under that number. Tax + activation. Tmo does some silly $18 activation for existing customers.

Another good thing...T-mobile is REALLLLLY reasonable with partial payment. So lets say your bill is due and you dont have it all you can always pay part first then at some predetermined later date pay the rest.

Tmo is great in the partial pay department. Count on spending at least $400.

I will clarify a few things. I will be buying in a store the with out a preorder. Also I live in Oregon and there is no sales tax here.

I am a new t-mobile customer. As in not currently a customer but will be when I buy the phone.

Will they just bill me for the hardware?

Gotta get two because my finance needs one too.

no sales tax?? Hm. Then i just assume if you go into the store that it will be 179.99 + the 18 dollar activation fee. So just under 400 for both phones. You have to extend the contract for two years to get the price of 179.99 though. That means you would have to extend the contract on two different telephone numbers.

If you were just buying the phones outright it would cost 399.00 and if you were upgrading but you dont meet the proper contract requirements like your upgrading too soon, you would only get a partial discount, of 299 i believe.
