Not all contacts groups syncing?

I have some groups in Google Contacts (friends, family, etc.), but I don't see these groupings anywhere on the G1. The people themselves seem to be syncing fine, but the groups aren't -- so, for example, when I do "display group," I don't see "family" as an option.

Any ideas?

Make sure you are Syncing all the groups.
When you hit on <Menu>, instead of <Display Group>, click/touch <Settings>, then <Sync Groups>...

I finally got around to moving my wife's contacts from the Palm to her G1. Took quite some time. I liked the names of the three built-in groups provided by Google: Friends, Family and Coworkers, so I used those in addition to the other groups she had. Unfortunately, the three built-ins do not sync, while all other groups work fine. Why would Google provide groups and then NOT sync them? Is there any way around this issue? TIA!

Create groups with the names Friends1, Family1 and Coworkers1 or some other variation on those names.

check out the contacts section on your gmail account online? you should have some options there for your contacts.
