Default No pre-order and you in DFW? No problem!

I just got off the phone with a representative at my local T-Mobile store in Garland and I've got some good news for those here in DFW who are waiting till the 22nd to pick up a G1 from a T-Mobile store.

According to her, the T-Mobile location in Garland is going to receive the largest G1 shipment in all of DFW. She said that there will be some sort of release "press conference" event or something. She didn't know whether it would be a news tv channel or a radio station.

Anyway, she said that because of this, that store will receive 200 black G1's and 80 bronze (no white). She also told me that she had spoken with other T-Mobile stores in the area and that they were only expecting between 20 and 30 total units.

The store will open at 8am on Wednesday, October 22nd and will be selling G1's on a first come fist served basis. However, they have been compiling a list of interested people and she told me that so far they only had 25 people on that list. Odds of me snagging one look good.

The store is located at 3102 Broadway Blvd Garland, TX 75043 MAP

I will add to this by saying that the store in West Village is saying their initial allotment of G1's is "spoken for" already. I'm not sure what that means, is there a waiting list at the retail shops or something? At any rate, it appears there's better stores to go to on the day it launches.

I was told by both the store that are in my area that T-Mobile won't allow them to "set aside" any units for people on lists. They said their lists were merely for them go gauge interest and for them to call people with more info on the launch. I guess some locations are not following the rules... oh well. I'm just glad the one near my house is getting 200 units. I'm sure there'll be plenty to go around.

The reason Garland is getting the biggest shipment is because they are the closest to the UPS hub.

Another good source of devices would be inside of the Highland Park stores, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're already "spoken for".
