    Thumbs up No longer a G1 virgin(+review)

Ok so I caved and went to test out the G1 at the store. Heres my little review of the 5-10 minutes i had with it(i lost track :P)

Keyboard: Very comfortable to use. keys are not slippery nor too rough. just right. You can reach everything nicely and without ever using a mobile qwerty keyboard for longer than a few minutes before in my life i got used to it right away. Also flips out nicely.
    5/5

Size: Perfect fit in my hand. took all but 2 seconds(thats the saying but it seems logically incorrect...) to get used to it. like many others have said, the pictures dont do it justice. it is smaller than what it seems in the pictures.
4/5 -> Could have been tablet size but then it wouldnt be a phone. future device? maybe like the thing in iron man?

Outside(case and controls): Nice matte finish takes away any smudging on the whole of the device(minus the screen) unlike the iTouch. screen is a perfect size for this device. trackball works smoothly and also just found out you could click it(guess that should have been a given :P). The chin isnt even noticable when using it and after dreading it since the first pictures emerged im actually glad it is there because i think it would feel awkward without it.
    5/5

Inside(funtionality): Its android! boot time is about 30 seconds - a minute which kinda sucks, maybe just because it was trying to find a sim card which wasnt there. hopefully a firmware upgrade. Right after boot its slightly laggy but after a minute it was very smooth. didnt get to test any network stuff because of no sim card and no wifi that i thought of trying (duh!!) so no info on non 3g speed.(did load google tho, either its offline or you can connect to google without it?). Contacts list was smooth. you can flick through it smother than an iPhone and much quicker too. Copied all the phone numbers from the device that people added as they tested it, ill call them all tonight(heh jk :P. seriously tho, dumb move...). had pacman and bonzai ball or whatever that was and i played those for a bit, pacman was really loud so i quit that right away :P. Before i lose your attention ill stop now :P
4.9999999999999999/5 -> boot could and hopefully will be faster.

All in all 110/100. Its a great phone and with android it can only get better.

I caved for a second time today and got me about 20-25 minutes with the device...I swear, I am actually a LOT more shocked at how...perfect this device is...I also like that its relatively semi complex yet simple...it'll be fun discovering things with this device.

You can use it without a sim? At least I won't have to be Android-less when my younger sister has to borrow my phone (which is frequent).
