"No Connection" error when using gmail

This worked for me (as mentioned in previous thread here) for a home screen, go to:

1. Menu
2. System Settings
3. Applications
4. Manage Applications
5. Gmail
6. Clear Data

I also cleared the data in the Gmail Storage App (it should be right nect to the Gmail App).

Back all the way out of the System Settings and launch the Gmail App, it should work. This worked on mine with no problems, hopefully it will help. I'm using a T-Mobile MyTouch 3G with Android 1.6 o/s

I tried all the things I found on the web. Finally called vzw. First, browser working. yes. then you have a connection. send email to email@vzw.com subject your fone no. see if you get an auto response. I did but was not getting emails the vzw rep was sending. SOLUTION. this is a computer, total reboot. go to main screen. leave computer on. pop battery for 20 seconds. start computer, go to gmail, menu, hit refresh if needed. This fixed it for me. He said this computer needs to be treated just like any other computer, you need to do a couple cold boots a week, and once ina while, pop the battery for a complete initial reset. I have incredible, still waiting for 2.2

If the above solutions don't work for you, check your date/time settings are correct.

I got this error today and after checking the various solution found on the Net I tried trying Wifi off and on again and the mobile started loging into email again.
I have not tried the mobile away from my PC yet, though.

This has been a issue with Gmail recently as the app has been slow to load and the connection times out. It's nothing to worry about. Google will release a fix soon enough but until then, all of our patience is key!

When trying to add another gmail to the 3 existing (white envelope blue @ sign in the menu) Samsung Captivate

On Wifi, there is no 3G although I know I have it. Tried all over my area today, nothing. 5 towns of trying! I see the green and pink in/out arrows in the 3g flash.. but it wont connect. Also (in case this has anything to do with it) I cannot "check in" to facebook. It will say it cannot find the location.

Everything worked fine until Gmail and this 3g connection unable crap, SO sick of problems with this phone. Its one thing after another. Phone is just a year old and I have babied it
