Hello and Welcome to Android Community,
I'm sure someone will offer up some sound advice in just a few minutes.
But in the mean time, have you tried using the search option ?
I love my G1. I set up a google account to use with it that has my ex employers name in it because they were paying my bill and it was a work phone. Lets call it Joesplumbing@gmail.com
I loved my G1 so when I quit I bought the phone from my boss. Problem is I had to make a new email address. Lets call it Jonsphone@gmail.com
The phone has a TON of contacts in it I want to keep. Along with photos, notes and so on.
Here are my problems.
1) If I sync it with "jonsphone@gmail.com" I lose all those contacts from Joesplumbing@gmail.com
2) If I export "Joesplumbing@gmail.com" address book I lose a lot of the formatting, it screws up some of the fields, lose all the notes and pictures.
3) Importing an address book file into "jonsphone@gmail.com" screws up some of the numbers. Like it says work when it should be work fax or home when it should be work email. That sort of thing.
4) If I change the account from "Joesplumbing@gmail.com" to "jonsphone@gmail.com" on my phone it deletes all the old info
What I would like to do is just enter the "jonsphone@gmail.com" address on my phone and have the phone sync everything correctly with Gmail. I realize that may not be possible so I am open to suggestion. Anyone have any?

I tried searching and only found old threads with no answer or threads telling people how to reset their email address. I know how to reset, just need to take my contacts with me.
I'd say export the contacts in a .csv format, and re-import them from gmail.com. There is also a plugin for Outlook called Funmobl (or something like that) that will allow you to sync with your gMail acct. For the Fumobl way of doing it, you can actually export the contacts into a .pst format, import them into Outlook and re-sync with Funmobl.
Problem #2 and #3. exporting and importing googles address book, even in google format messes up the contacts. For example, if your contact has more than one email address or home phone number it combines them. If you have contacts with the same phone number (like at the same business) it combines them.
Example:
joeschmo@gmail.com
joes@gmail.com
becomes
joeschmoe@gmail.comjoes@gmail.com
or
555-555-1234
555-555-9876
becomes
555-555-1234555-555-9876
You are welcome to try it and tell me if you get a different result. I really do appreciate everyone being so helpful. If you read my original post you will see I tried these things already and they don't work.
It seems like the export/import option is your best bet! You may have to do some cleanup after wards, but it's worth it if you get to keep all of your contacts, right?
