    Default mytouch landscape keyboard

is it just me? or is the landscape keyboard REALLY REALLY laggy. Portrait view is fine, but when you take it to landscape it takes a second or 2 to recognize the keytouches. It isn't even that bad at all on the G1's landscape, but its really bad on the mytouch. Anyone else agree?

Well, I use the HTC keyboard on my myTouch (Stupid Name), and it works great!

I actuallyl just today tried to type as fast as I could, without looking at the screen for mistakes, and was amazed at how accurate and how fast I could type!

If you haven't downloaded and installed the HTC Magic keyboard, check it out!

Or just use taskiller to kill off some baggage apps so it runs smoother.

yeah, i've been thinking about the HTC keyboard lately. hopefully with donut, if it does include multi-touch it will help better with the android keyboard.

yeah, i was thinking that possibly having apps pushing notifications like babbler and twidroid in the background it is slowing down the keyboard.

You hit it on the head - we need multi-touch if we want to type quickly on the virtual keyboard. This is why I haven't upgraded from my G1 to the myTouch. I don't know why T-Mobile would release the myTouch as their "flagship" phone w/ only a virtual keyboard and no multi-touch - they may turn off a lot of customers.

As for as multi touch goes I HERD/read off a Mippin.com WIDGET that the entry level handsets/the one from Motorola will have multi touch and I think will have its own custom UI.

And I went to the mall today to check out a T Mobile stand and look into the Touch Me/Sapphire. And They had it running the whole Freshface home replacement and it looked really nice which is kinda a sales thing.
But I went and rotated the phone and it took WAY too long and when I began typing I tried to type quickly and it was so off and terrible. Way not worth it.

Come to think of it, I'm surprised a third-party developer hasn't released a keyboard that implements multi-touch. Other devs have used multi-touch in other apps (pinching the desktop to zoom in/out in PhoneToMyPC comes to mind), so it can be done, right?

I think it also has to be programmed into the OS though, requiring a rom flash, and well, you know how thats going for the mytouch,
