Try a different computer and see if that works.
Can anyone help me? I have a Mac G4 PPC running OS 10.4.11 and when i go through all the step to mount my sd card from the G1 side my computer does not recognize it. I don't know what to. My mac just doesn't see the card. Thanx in advance.

cant put this damn phone down...
a G1 to a Mac! travesty! j/ki don't use Mac OS X much and i find it odd that such a refined OS would have trouble mounting such a generic device.
i'm with NismoG35, just so you can make sure it isn't something superficial, like the cable.
just to confirm though, when you connect your G1, do you get the little USB icon in your Task Bar at the top? you MUST click that and then click "Mount" to get the OS to recognize the device. make sure you're not overlooking that. i know you said "when i go through all the step to mount my sd card from the G1 side" but, that seemed a little vague and one can't verify steps/processes enough while troubleshooting.![]()
It doesn't mount to my Dell laptop either...
So don't feel bad

this should mount on any Windows platform > Windows 2000. if it's not mounting, i would suspect maybe you're running Windows XP SP1 or <. does the Windows Event Viewer show ya anything Dayum? all this thing is is a USB Mass Storage Device, so connectivity across virtually any platform should be without alarms/surprises.
holler.
I have a 2G card that I took from my "Wing", The G1 has no problem playing the music & video already had on the card.
This Dell is running Vista, but it might need to be checked. I have no problem with the phone mounting, it just doesn't show up in the task bar.
I run into trouble after I click the mount icon, it doesn't recognize the hardware and it shows that I have nothing on the card.
After I unplug it, all the info comes back. I do need to try it on another PC

definitely try another PC. and no worries about the System Tray icon, does it show up in My Computer (Computer for Vista) as a Mass Storage Device/Removable Device?
i'll connect mine to a Vista (Microsoft's biggest mistake to date) system at work and let ya know how it goes. you never know with crap like UAC and the new "security" paradigm in this new generation of Microsoft products.
what are the specs on the 2GB card?
my dell xps 1530 laptop has no problem reading the card . as a matter of fact , my dell loves to read the card :^) i think it fell in love with my g1 . pretty soon they are getting hitched !!!
It doesn't show up at all, but I'll check again once I get home.
I'm not sure of the specs, but it's a 2.0GB SanDisk
Thanks for the info Woodian
*iLOL, My Dell is old "simms"
It's an old Inspiron, this could be the reason why I'm having issues
