My G1 camera doesn't work.......

Everytime I try to use my camera on my G1 it just gives me a black screen and 2 minutes later it forcecloses. Please help!!

Give it an Factory Reset that should do the trick.

1. Power off the G1
2. Hold Home Key + End key for 20 seconds or until you see a “triangle with an exclamation point and a picture of the G1″
3. Open the keyboard and hit Alt+W
4. Restored!

I had this very problem yesterday. A reboot corrected it for me. I think that my problem was caused by a bug.

I opened Barcode Scanner and scanned a 2d code from the web so I could download an apk. I clicked the link in Barcode Scanner to download the file and installed the app from the download list.

Now, at this point I usually use the back button to back completely out of the process to the home screen, but this time i chose to run the newly installed app immediately after downloading.

Later, I went to use Barcode Scanner again and it wouldn't start, only a blank screen followed by a force close. I thought to myself, how unusual was that , Barcode Scanner has always been rock solid reliable but I didn't think much more of it and proceeded to manually enter the bar codes information.

Even later, I decided to use Snap Photo Pro to take a picture, with the same result. I checked the stock camera app but it also was blank and force closed.

Like mentioned above, a power down and power up corrected my issue completely. Give it a try if you haven't already. Good Luck.

I have tried this multiple times with no help. I also downloaded Snap Photo and the same thing happens. Goes black screen then force close!!!

Any more help I can try!!

I have exactly the same symptoms with desire? Have you managed to get this fixed somehow?
