and i saw something about holding the search key and pressing the letter of the associated application...does that mean we can associate keyboard shortcuts with apps? Sorry if I'm behind on thi one. I havent had ample time to go through the user's guide

How was the screen brightness? Was it washed out in bright light or sunlight?

I didn't get time to take it outside to check screen brightness or full-light photos like I wanted to. However, the store was quite well lit with florescent lighting, and the screen was easily readable.

Yes, the search key paired with any letter or number key on the keyboard is an assignable "jump" shortcut, not unlike the jump key on the Sidekick platform.

Thanks again for all this info! It's awesome! I just now spoke to a TMO rep (to check on my order) and she had a training day today and spent some time with a G1 (she currently has a Wing) - she said this phone is incredible! She was a 'die hard' Wing fan and she wants to dump it now after experiencing the G1. She ordered late so won't get her G1 until November but she said that we are all gonna absolutely love it! ~ I "plugged" the AC and told her to come check us out The more people I talk to and the more reviews I read, just gets me more pumped for my phone! Woohoo!

I took a few pictures, but it was with the stock SD card in the phone, I forgot to put my card in before snapping them. From on the screen, the picture quality looks far better than I was expecting.

I had already read the instruction manual, so I understood that this phone has a MECHANICAL auto-focus, and I knew how to work it. You need to point at object to take picture of, hold shutter button halfway (like on a regular digi-cam) and wait for green focus light on screen...then snap picture. I found just snapping picture without letting mechanical focus work were far fuzzier.

Damn! This just makes me think about my new toy even more. Trying to not think about it too much b4 this to make the time go by quicker, ha ha.

After reading about the bb storm and it's "clicking, depressing" ts, the whole G1 phone vibrating in response to input sounds way cooler. In my dirty mind I'm already seeing a "stimulating" test app for how fast you can "rub" the screen, with the correct level of feedback from the phone. Ha Ha.
