Hey man- thanks for a very clear and detailed review!

A couple questions-

regarding the browser, how did webpages look? Were there any formatting issues? Yknow.. like how a sidekick can't seem to handle CSS properly- example, my.yahoo.com

how was the zooming in and out?

how was clicking on small links? would you accidentally click the wrong link sometimes?

how was the overall speed and performance moving around on a webpage?

would animated gifs play? how about flash?

Well to answer all of your questions in a nutshell, this phone does wonders with the web, I have yet to notice any formatting issues. Zooming in an out of a page thats loading does get a bit sketchy and laggy, but once the page is loaded there is no Lag. Clicking on links is awesome, the trackball does wonders, and the phone has a magnifying glass doohicky where you can scroll around the web page and have it zoom in on whatever you want. Speed performance moving around a webpage is fast and very nice, BUT its not as FLUID as the iphone, I compared them both side by side. As far as animated GIF's or Flash, it was hard to tell, Ill get back to you. I went to MLB.com and it was awesome, looked just like my desktop PC, cept the video portion wouldnt load. so that might answer your question on that.

Ring/notification: I asked this of Kaz and I remember Snoslicer had asked the same thing in a previous thread.

Does the ring option allow you to select vibrate then ring, or is it simultaneous? I personally like my phones to vibrate a few times then ring.

Negative, Its only VIBE and no ring, or VIBE and RING at the same time. Same with Notifications (Email/Text/MMS)

Sorry to but in, but I have had my G1 for 3 days now, and its awesome. I figure I can answer some questions

OH forgot to mention, The battery is good for talk time, but MAN O MAN, the 3G does drain the battery FAST, and I mean FAST.

Okay this will be kinda hard to explain, but imagin a magnifying glass in your hand and moving it around your computer screen at home to make text and pictures look bigger, well this is the same thing but you use your finger to move it around. You push this little button that will be placed in the lower corner of the browser to access this feature. OR you can utilize the normal ZOOM in and ZOOM out which Zooms the whole page, not just a certain part. Hope this explains it a little bit better.
