Unhappy Making T-Mobile G1 work on Wind Mobile

Hi, I hope i'm in the right forum to ask this question.

I just bought a T-Mobile G1, to work it with Wind Mobile network. But The phone wanted to sign in to google account and it didn't go through because I don't have the data plan. I wanted to get some suggestions to make the phone work with the wind sim card I have.

Connect via Wi-Fi first. Or, if you can't do that, come back here and we'll try to guide you through the process.

hm.. if i'm reading this correctly, you want to activate your g1, but can't because you can't sign onto a google account. the easiest way to get around that is to just get a friend's sim card that has a data plan, or just get a data plan for a day and just pay that rate (never heard of your network, so i'm not sure about the subsidized costs).

however, if you're really wanting to be daring, you can activate via jesusfreke's adb method. i've used it a bunch, but my method is kinda a mix of a few forums i found. i lost all my links though.. try googling stuff about jesusfreke, adb g1 activation, etc. you're sure to find some stuff. pm if you still need help. good luck!

Ok, i just fixed the problem.

When the phone asked me to connect to google, I pressed menu button and created a new "APN" Settings and entered "internet.windmobile.ca" under APN.
and saved the settings. And it connected to the google and synced my settings.

It was very easier than I thought. Most importantly I didn't had to sign up to a data plan. the network was free to use.

I got to know to apn settings from Wind's official site. And the phone working fine now with 3G Network
