    Default Lack of 3G coverage?

there are many areas where my internet goes from 3G to Edge . all of this is within at 10 mile radius . i'm moving to a new house and the current place where i'm living at I get 3G . but then i get to my new home and behold, Edge pops up . the new house is only about 4-6 miles away.

does anyone else have this problem? 3G doesn't seem to be too stable

secondly . .. does anyone else get signal problems ?

When i'm at work i used to get 3 bars of signal with my sidekick LX , now i keep getting NO SIGNAL . and when i do it's only for a few seconds. i can't even send out text messages or anything while i'm at work.

    has anyone else experienced this?

this is a really good phone, by far the best one T-mobile has. i love my G1 even though there are minor things that bug me . but getting lower internet speeds and no signal irritates the heck out of me

*EDIT* this is in the southeast part of houston .

t-mobile's website shows that i should be covered by 3G

yep. same problem here in west houston. in fact, my reception changes from 3g to edge constantly...even when i'm stationary in my home. very frustrating. what's worse, i was in flatonia this weekend (about 100 mile west of houston) and had a bettr signal than i do in houston.

At least you guys get 3G, some of us would have to drive 2 hours to get to a 3G area.

No problem's like that for me, but unfortuantly, im only 3 min away (driving) from 3g. On the map , it says i dont have 3g at my house, it sucks. lol. I called t-mobile, they said thing's miles a way from where the last 3g is should be available in a month . :]

In my area, I don't have 3G for any carrier. A smaller city just north of me has 3G for AT&T but not T-Mobile. So, it will be awhile before I get 3G so only Edge for me and my upcoming G1.

Ditto, it happens in my room. I haven't walked around the house yet, but it works good when I'm out of the house like at the mall.

I get 3G around where I work, but then within a 3 mile drive away I lose it and it switches back to EDGE. At home I get no 3G. To tell the truth I barely even get signal with the phone. I live in Miami and the only time I've seen full bars is by my job with 3g connection.

well atleast i know im not the only one

i wonder if this can be fixed with a firmware update

    i hope it's not a hardware issue

Me too, 3G is sporadic in Las Vegas. I get it on one street for about 2 solid miles, then I hit a spot and POOF back to Edge. Unfortunately I only get Edge at work even though T-Mobile says it should be 3G on their maps. Work is one of the main places I would really like 3G to connect. That said the Edge performance is really good, I was quite surprised actually.

Do you guys think that T-Mobile will continue to improve their 3G coverage in markets where they claim to be 3G or is this as good as it is going to get?
